The company buys material from many suppliers, including large wholesalers. Every month numerous long invoices come in with many line items. Large suppliers increasingly use AI to adjust their prices continuously, often in small steps and on individual items. By hand it was impossible to check every line against earlier invoices and agreed terms. Classic rules in the accounting software only caught rough deviations.
